Pikes Peak Pickleball Alliance (THE ALLIANCE) Code of Conduct Policy

Effective Date: November 10, 2025

1. Purpose

The Pikes Peak Pickleball Alliance (THE ALLIANCE) is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all players, spectators, and volunteers. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior on and off the court at all THE ALLIANCE activities, including recreational play, leagues, tournaments, clinics, and social events.

2. Core Values

All members, guests, and participants are expected to uphold the following values:

      • Respect – Treat all players, officials, volunteers, and spectators with courtesy and dignity.
      • Integrity – Play honestly and fairly, following the rules and spirit of the game.
      • Safety – Prioritize the well-being of yourself and others.
      • Community – Support a positive, welcoming pickleball community.
      • Sportsmanship – Win or lose with grace and humility.

3. Expected Conduct

All members and participants shall:

Respect Others
      • Use appropriate language; no profanity, insults, or demeaning remarks.
      • Avoid aggressive behavior, physical contact, or verbal abuse.
      • Refrain from discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, age, ability, or any other protected category.
Follow the Rules
      • Adhere to the official USA Pickleball Rules and any THE ALLIANCE-specific guidelines.
      • Respect the decisions of referees, captains, and organizers.
      • Avoid deliberate line calls or scoring disputes; resolve issues calmly and fairly.
Demonstrate Good Sportsmanship
      • Congratulate opponents, thank partners, and maintain a positive attitude.
      • Refrain from taunting, gloating, or blaming others for mistakes.
      • Encourage and assist new or less experienced players.
Promote Safety
      • Warm up properly, wear appropriate gear, and stay alert to surroundings.
      • Report hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions to THE ALLIANCE officials.
      • Avoid playing under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Respect Facilities and Equipment
      • Treat courts, nets, paddles, and property with care.
      • Clean up after yourself and assist in maintaining facilities.
      • Follow all local park or facility regulations.

4. Disciplinary Actions

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in one or more of the following actions, at the discretion of THE ALLIANCE Board or designated officials:

      • Verbal or written warning
      • Temporary suspension from THE ALLIANCE events or facilities
      • Revocation of THE ALLIANCE membership
      • Referral to law enforcement (for serious incidents)
      • All disciplinary actions will be handled fairly, with an opportunity for the member to provide input before final decisions are made.

5. Reporting Misconduct

Members are encouraged to report any behavior inconsistent with this Code of Conduct to a THE ALLIANCE Board member or event organizer. Reports will be reviewed confidentially and addressed promptly.

6. Acknowledgment

By participating in Pikes Peak Pickleball Alliance activities, I agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and understand that violations may result in disciplinary action as described above.
